My Favorite Sites!
What I look for in a site: Clean, simple with a good balance of text, graphics, images and (most important) white space. In other words, don't make your home page too busy and cluttered.
Photos and graphics will grab your viewers' attention, but it's your text (your words) where they will really learn your story.
On to my Favorite Site and why!
New Tribes Mission ( ntm.org )
- Neutral colors with a red accent (not 'in your face')
- Main image/story changes every time you go to this site's home page. Keeps the site looking fresh.
- No 'drop downs' under the navigation. For example: when you 'Hover' over 'ABOUT US' you notice it changes, but NO 'drop downs'. Once you click on it and that page loads you see all the pages that are "ABOUT US". Clean, not confusing or busy looking!
- Check out the "ABOUT US", notice how detailed they get? Wonder why? They realize that viewers, prayer partners, supporters, volunteers, and donors will most likely go here before making a commitment.
- They are constantly adding new pages, updates, and articles on what God is doing in their ministry.

- Once again, love the neutral colors. The first text you see when going to this site tells who Wycliffe is, I really like that.
- Background patten is a perfect match. They also do a great job of just the right amount of 'drop shadow' and 'rounded corners'.
- Check out the 'Accountability' page under 'ABOUT'. This is the most comprehensive one I've seen.
- Clean and simple at first glance, but extremely deep once you start reading.
- One common denominator in all of these is they are constantly updating them.
- Same as the above, clean and simple, at first glance.
- Notice the Give/Support/Donate buttons in all three of these example sites. When you click on them you don't see that familiar "PayPal" button staring you in the face wanting your credit card number.
- Check out the 'Our Story' page under 'ABOUT'. Great use of a Time Line to tell the story.
