Your First Pages
Your "About Us" pages should be the most important pages in your site.
The most common ones you should have for a Ministry are:
- History - 200-250 words about how and where the ministry was first started. Who and how God first gave the vision and how the ministry has evolved to its present state.
- Mission Statement - This should come directly from the ministries by-laws. It should be specific in manor in order to give the reader a view of the direction on the ministry. God can and often alters the direction of a ministry, as that happens it's very important to also alter the Mission Statement.
- Board of Directors - 180-200 words about each board member. His/Her duties as a board member, a brief bio about that person with a statement of how God lead them to be a part of the ministry. Include a jpg photo, at least 500px X 500px in size.
- What We Believe - 200-250 words that describes the ministries relationship with Jesus Christ. Often this has several Scripture referances and that's always a good place to start. On the other hand, here is one I really like with no Scripture. (Mike Rudd - Good Word Ministries)
- Accountability - 200-250 words that describes how donations are processed. Describe any and all ways the ministry shows openness and disclosure. Here is a good example: Center of Hope - Accountability.
- Non-profit Accountability organizations - There are several organizations that track non-profits, used by both donors and non-profits. It is important to know all you can about each one of these. Click here for a printable copy of a few of them.
