STARTING YOUR WEBSITE DESIGN!
The Process!
Our job is to guide you, as you give us your ideas we will start the design process based on your input.
Build from scratch - vs - using a template:
Building from scratch always takes a little longer. Another option is to start with a template. With hundreds of templates available on the web, most being total customized through CSS and HTML code. Starting with a template usually gives us a better idea of what you're looking for.
Meeting The Objective!
We believe every page of your site should meet at least one of these objectives:
- Gives glory to God
- Increase prayer support for your mission
- Increase donations for your mission
- Increase volunteers for your mission
Your First Pages
In most sites and especially a Ministry, Missions or Missionary site, adding credibility right up front is very important. We feel that's usually the first text you should be concerned with writing. A viewer that is a potential Supporter/Donor will usually go here before making a commitment.
Go to: Writing your First Pages!
Tools you need:
- iGoogle Home Page
- e-Newsletter such as Constant Contact
- Third party application to receiving donations
- Quickbooks, onLine Edition
One thing all four of these have in common is they all have a database that will store contact information. The key is how to utilize each one of them.
iGoogle Home Page: What can you do with it?
iGoogle is a web based application that is maintained by Google. You can set up multi calendars, upload and store photos and documents and a lot more. It's a great tool that works well with any website, and it's free!
It also has a Contact List Database that can be imported into from Microsoft Excel, or out of, the same way. This makes it easy to import from programs like Outlook or Quickbooks.
Once you create a "public" calendar in iGoogle, we can copy the code that it generates and paste in your website. An example of that is: This Sites Calendar.
Go to Google.com, click on "Sign In" in the upper right hand corner then, click on "Create an account now".
